Comparable: 2020 iPhone SE vs 2022 iPhone SE

Apple's iPhone SE has been updated to a new generation. The entry-level smartphone now has 5G connectivity. But has Apple done enough to make it easy for people to upgrade? The iPhone SE has been a gateway to iPhone ownership since its inception. It offers consumers a small smartphone with all the modern conveniences found in flagships but at a more affordable price. Apple introduced the third-generation model on March 8. The company continues the tradition of the device being an introductory device. It's an affordable way to upgrade to 5G. The new iPhone SE could be an excellent option for both owners of older models and potential switchers. This is how the iPhone SE 2020 and 2022 versions stack up.

Apple: iPhone SE Gen 3 vs. iPhone SE Gen 2 Physical Dimensions

Although the iPhone SE was considered minor, it wasn't the most compact in the range. The iPhone 13 mini is just a fraction of an inch ahead, but the iPhone SE isn't far behind.

Gen 2 models measure 5.45 inches high and 2.65 inches wide. They also measure 0.29 inches thick. It weighs in at a respectable 5.22 ounces.

The second-generation SE design incorporated design cues from iPhone 8 and did not incorporate design ideas from flagship models like the iPhone 13. Because it does not have an edge-to-edge screen, this means thicker bezels and the top and bottom.

Apple's third-generation device design is the same, with no visible external changes.

Apple will not use premium materials such as stainless steel because of the iPhone SE's price. The second-generation iPhone SE uses aluminum with glass panels at the front and back. You can buy ios app reviews to have more information about iPhone SE.

Apple: iPhone SE 3

The price of the 2022 iPhone SE is $429. However, wireless carriers offer aggressive incentives for this budget-friendly smartphone that supports 5G.

This tradition continues with this third-gen model.

The iPhone SE is not meant to be a flagship. Apple targets a low price so that the iPhone SE won't have the latest design philosophy.

Apple: iPhone SE Gen 3 vs. iPhone SE Gen 2: Processing performance

Apple aims to keep the iPhone SE at a reasonable price point, but Apple tends to include an A-series chip in its iPhone SE. Apple launched the iPhone SE in 2020 with the A13 Bionic chip, which is the same chip used in the iPhone 11.

This chip is a 7nm Hexa-core SoC with two high-performance and four energy-efficient cores. The chip also had an Apple-designed four-core GPU and an eight-core Neural engine. It contained 8.5 billion transistors.

The third generation will be using the A15 Bionic in 2022. This is the same A15 Bionic used in the iPhone 13 range. It has two performance cores and four efficiency cores, an updated GPU, and a 16-core Neural engine.

The A15 is faster than the A13. You can see this in Geekbench scores of the second-gen iPhone SE and the iPhone 13.

The Gen 2 SE has a single-core score of 1,312, while the multicore test scores are 2,818, and a Metal score of 7,285. iPhone 13 scores 1,671 for single-core and 4,480 for multi-core, and 10,805 in Metal.

Although we might see some differences in the results of the third-gen SE benchmarking, they will not be too far behind the iPhone 13.

It's not hard to see. It is a faster chip. It will be quicker.

Apple: iPhone SE Gen 3 vs. iPhone SE Gen 2 - Cameras

Apple chose to keep the second-generation iPhone SE's camera single, as it was more affordable than a dual-camera setup. The iPhone SE Gen 3 has the same camera, with very few changes.

Both models have a 12-megapixel Wide camera with an f/1.8 aperture. True Tone flash is also available. Intelligent HDR photos, Portrait mode with Depth Control, and Portrait Lighting are supported.

Apple's move to the A15 brings with it enhanced image signal processing. This upgrade includes Deep Fusion computational photography enhancements, Smart HDR 4, and Photogenic Styles upgrades.

The second-generation model was capable of filming in 4K at 60fps and 1080p slow-motion at 240fps. The stereo recording was also possible thanks to optical image stabilization, a 3x zoom, and digital zoom.

The third-generation video has not been updated, so the Cinematic Mode is unavailable.

The second-generation version features a FaceTime HD camera at the front. It offers a 7-megapixel resolution and an f/2.2 aperture. Retina Flash is available. 1080p30 video recording is also possible

Again, the third-gen uses the same camera, but the image signal processing is modified to buoy it. This equates to Smart HDR photos, Photographic Styles support, and a 120fps 1080p Slomo-mo.

Although Apple has not upgraded its cameras, the iPhone SE's third-generation iPhone SE does have better camera capabilities. Camera is so great, so you can buy ios keyword app installs to download some photography apps for your phone.

iPhone SE Gen 3 vs. iPhone SE Gen 2: Battery and Charging

Apple's second-generation iPhone SE introduced wireless charging. It is compatible with Qi chargers. It doesn't support MagSafe, Apple's preferred wireless charging system that charges faster and can charge up to 7.5W.

It still provides Qi support despite the absence of MagSafe and runs at a limited 7.5W.

Apple claims that the second iPhone SE has a battery life of up to 13 hours for video playback, 8 hours when streaming, and 40 hours for audio playback.

The third model has battery life upgraded to provide 15 hours of video playback and 10 hours of streaming, and up to 40 hours of audio.

Apple: iPhone SE Gen 3 vs. iPhone SE Gen 2: Capacity and Pricing

The second-generation iPhone SE is available in 64GB and 128GB. Apple charged $399 for the 64GB model and $449 for one-28GB.

Apple has added a third option for the third-generation iPhone SE, a 256GB option, to the 64GB and 128GB options. Apple's 64GB iPhone SE costs $429 while the 128GB model is $479 and the 256GB is $579.

Apple provided three color options for the second-generation model. White and Black were accompanied by (Product. Red). The third-generation version has no significant changes except that the names have been changed to Midnight, Starlight, and (Product. Red). Conclusion

The third-gen iPhone SE is not recommended as an upgrade for owners of the second-generation iPhone. Although there are some changes, it is not worth the upgrade unless you need basic 5G connectivity, faster processing, and computational photo adjustments.

Although it isn't a significant upgrade to the second-generation iPhone SE, the third-generation keeps the iPhone SE relevant and up-to-date as the entry-level iPhone. The iPhone SE is not making a significant change. It's simply keeping the iPhone SE current enough to be practical.
